March 23, 2010
Please save the date for Thursday, March 25, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., when I will host a special Internet Webcast - an Open Line Meeting with the Secretary - to discuss the One DSS reorganization, the status of the DSS Budget and the upcoming 2010 Legislative Session.
We will be using a new technology at DSS for this virtual meeting, which will allow DSS staff and stakeholders from across the state to come together at one time to discuss the changes that are underway for our agency. This new technology will allow me to speak to you live and will provide an open line of communication so that I may address your questions and concerns. Following my presentation, I will field your questions through the program's chat and video feature. This is a brand new use of technology and an example of how we can make our work together more efficient.
Tomorrow you will recieve an invitation to register for the meeting; Registration is required in order to participate. Because the system's capacity is limited to 3,000 participants, we strongly encourage groups to view the presentation at a single workstation or in a conference room using a projector so that we can make the most of this technology and provide access to as many participants as possible.
For those who are unavailable on Thursday, the meeting will be recorded and available for viewing on the Web within 30 minutes of the end of the session.
I look forward to meeting with all of you for an informative session that will give you an opportunity to provide input. This meeting represents an exciting step toward modernizing the way DSS operates and communicates more efficiently.
