Dear CCAP Provider,

Tracking of Time Services (TOTS) will be fully implemented statewide on Sunday, August 1, 2010. In order to prepare everyone for this implementation, please take a moment to review the documents linked below. There is important information regarding the first day of scanning, who to call with problems, how to look up the child's authorization, the difference between full-time care and part-time care and the payment schedule for the first month of TOTS.
Additionally, we have provided questions and answers from the provider town hall meetings.

If a parent's scan is not recognized and they claim to have been scanned at the parish office, you can look on the Provider Portal, www.latots.org to determine if the scan was a valid scan and is attached to the correct case. If the parent says they have not been scanned, please refer them to the local parish DCFS office to be scanned. They cannot check their child in without having been scanned prior to the first day.

CCAP children in the same family are included in the same case and the parent can check them in with a single scan. Child Welfare children (foster children for the most part) have individual cases, therefore, each child must be checked in separately with the foster parent scanning their finger for each child.

Please encourage all of your parents to get scanned prior to August 1, 2010, to avoid any potential problems on implementation day.

Thank you,

Gail Kelso
Executive Director
Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education
