What Do You Want To Do?

Find A Child To Adopt - View photos and biographies of Louisiana children available for adoption.
- View profiles of children on the DSS Web site.
Adoption Reunion Registry - Begin the process of voluntary contact between adult adoptees, birth parents and/or siblings.
Adoption Petition Program - DSS staff conduct investigations of all independent (not through an adoption agency) adoptions including stepparent, grandparent, one parent, and non-relative adoptions.
Adoption of Available Foster Children - Find out more about adopting children currently in the foster child program.

Families celebrate the their new lives together at the 10th Annual Adoption Celebration Day held in November 2008 at the Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge. Families of all 597 children adopted in FY '07-'08 from the state’s foster care system were invited to the event.
